Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of customer products in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled cold storage warehouse. This role supports inbound, outbound, and order fulfillment operations, including case picking, palletizing, loading, and unloading activities. Material Handlers may be cross-trained across multiple warehouse functions and are expected to follow all safety, food safety, and quality standards while working in refrigerated and freezer environments.
Essential Duties Include:
Be a team player with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude. Perform a variety of warehouse operations, including material handling, palletizing, loading, unloading, staging, and order fulfillment activities. Pick, stage, and verify customer orders as needed to support operations and ensure shipment accuracy. Stack cases and build pallets accurately and efficiently using proper lifting techniques and food safety practices. Load and unload trailers and move products to and from designated storage, staging, and shipping locations. Operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and powered industrial trucks (PIT), as trained, authorized, and certified. Use hand-held and vehicle-mounted RF scanners to complete warehouse transactions and maintain accurate product movement records. Transport completed orders to appropriate staging or shipping areas and complete required documentation. Use automated pallet wrappers and other warehouse equipment to support operational efficiency. Assist with regular cycle counts and physical inventories to maintain accurate stock levels and document adjustments as directed. Work safely and efficiently in multi-temperature environments ranging from ambient to -20°F while wearing company-provided cold-weather gear. Maintain clean, organized, and food-safe work areas in accordance with sanitation, safety, and quality standards. Complete required equipment inspections and promptly report safety concerns, product damage, or equipment issues. Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and drivers to support inbound and outbound warehouse operations. Participate in safety meetings, training, and cross-training opportunities to support operational flexibility. Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned by the Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship. Previous 1 year warehouse experience preferred; cold storage experience is a plus. Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, etc.) Experience with Warehouse Management System (Korber/Infios) is preferred Ability to accurately perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) as required for daily warehousing tasks. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Willingness to cross-train and perform a variety of warehouse tasks based on operational needs. Commitment to following all safety, food safety, and quality standards. Represent and support management with a high level of professional integrity and operational discipline. Must have an acceptable driving record per Company guidelines.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items regularly, up to 50 lbs. Specific customer requirements may require up to 100 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for 8-12 hours per shift, often on concrete floors. Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, and reaching above shoulder height. Repetitive use of hands and arms for picking, packing, scanning items, or operating equipment. May be required to operate elevated equipment, such as a cherry picker, as trained and authorized. Ability to be in a multi-temperature warehouse environment with temperatures ranging from outside ambient to -20 degrees F. Cold-Link provides cold weather gear for staff members. This is a safety sensitive position.
