Dishwasher & Meal Distribution Support for local Non-profit Equal Plates Project Asheville, NC Job Details Full-time From $20 an hour 10 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Paid time off Qualifications Teamwork Driver's License Professionalism Full Job Description Equal Plates Project is a local non-profit that purchases from small farms at fair prices, transforms their quality ingredients into nourishing meals, and partners with community organizations to share thousands of meals each week with neighbors facing food insecurity. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to join our kitchen team as a dishwasher and to support meal distribution. This is a critical dual role that keeps our kitchen running smoothly and ensures our clients receive their meals on time.
Responsibilities Cleaning & Sanitation:
Wash dishes, utensils, cookware to health standards.
Kitchen Maintenance:
Clean floors, surfaces, and manage trash/recycling.
Equipment Support:
Assist with equipment cleaning, breakdown, and reassembly.
Inventory Flow:
Keep dishware, pans, and tools stocked during production.
Food Safety:
Maintain sanitation systems (chemicals, logs).
Collaboration:
Work with volunteers to delegate dish/cleaning tasks.
Flex Support:
Help with basic prep (washing produce, portioning, labeling) when dish load allows.
Meal Distribution:
Load and transport prepared meals to various locations throughout the week (approximately 3-4 hours of driving per week).
Requirements Safe Driving Record:
Must possess a valid NC driver's license and a clean motor vehicle record.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs (crates of food, large pots, etc.).
Punctuality:
Strict adherence to the Monday-Friday 10:00am-5pm schedule is essential.
