Job Description

We are GAF. And under this roof, we protect what matters most. Job Summary The Material Handler Associate is ultimately responsible for managing process flow in our Shipping department. This includes safely & properly fulfilling orders for our customers promptly. Using tools such as pallet jacks, material handlers transition pallets of product to our order staging area and ultimately onto the customer truck for shipment to the product's final destination. The Shipping Material Handler works in Burgaw, NC, and partners with the Logistics team to support the warehouse and our customers.
Schedule:
Monday to Thursday 2:45PM to 11:15PM; Friday 1:15PM to 9:45PM Essential Duties Knowledge of GAF products & parts and have an ongoing awareness of availability. Work as a team to fulfill orders for all customers in a safe and time sensitive manner. Utilize handheld computers for loading trucks and for tracking progress. Work in other areas as business needs require. Maintain a good attitude toward company policies, processes, regulations and procedures. Teamwork-oriented and open-minded, willing to adapt to new techniques and processes. Flexibility is a must, able to work extended hours and multiple positions on 1st and/or 2nd shift as dictated by business needs. Ability to perform administrative tasks as required. Back-up for Shipping Clerks, Receiving Coordinator, UPS, general shipping, and other duties as required. Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Physical ability to use a pallet truck for pulling orders. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds several times throughout the day. Qualifications Required H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required 6 months prior manufacturing experience in a fast paced environment. Required Prior UPS Worldship experience Preferred Available to work overtime on short notice, nights, holidays and weekends. Prior Working Knowledge of Bar Coded Inventory management system desirable. Ability to communicate, both written and orally, by means of radio or telephone, computer problems, product shortages, and other order issues. Basic math skills addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Performs assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to differentiate various stock items and product differences. Ability to operator a sit-down forklift and walkie rider. Ability to work cooperatively and to conduct oneself in a professional manner in the course of performing the job. 0% Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.
Base Hourly Rate:
