Location/Division Specific Information:
Greenville, NC How Will You Make an Impact?: The Material Handler I supports manufacturing operations by ensuring raw materials, components, and packaging supplies are accurately received, stored, staged, and delivered to production areas in compliance with GMP, safety, and quality standards. This role is critical to maintaining material availability and supporting uninterrupted sterile manufacturing operations. Shift hours are 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule. A Day in the
Life:
Deliver raw materials, components, and packaging supplies to sterile manufacturing lines according to production schedules. Stage materials for production work orders while ensuring GMP compliance and proper material traceability. Perform SAP inventory transactions and RF scanning for material movement, issuing, and returns. Support component staging and replenishment to maintain continuous production flow. Assist with line clearance activities and removal of unused or expired materials from production areas. Handle and transport materials in quarantine, released, and controlled inventory areas following site procedures. Verify material identification, lot numbers, and expiration dates prior to issuing to production. Operate powered industrial trucks such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely and in accordance with site policies. Support cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities to maintain inventory accuracy. Maintain clean, organized staging and warehouse areas in accordance with 5S and safety standards. Communicate material needs with manufacturing, warehouse, and planning teams to prevent production interruptions.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Required:
No previous work experience required
Preferred:
Experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field
Preferred:
Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers/forklifts)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), GMP guidelines, and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inventory records. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting production timelines. Basic computer skills for inventory transactions and system entries. Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills. Physical Requirements / Work Environment Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching during the shift. Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Work performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, which may include temperature-controlled areas and moderate noise levels. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety and GMP requirements.
