Job Title:

General Laborer Job Description The General Laborer supports daily operations at a manufacturing site by unloading ice from delivery trucks and loading it into cement trucks to help maintain proper temperature control. This role involves consistent physical activity, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and learning basic mechanical tasks as needed. Responsibilities Unload ice from delivery trucks safely and efficiently. Lift and move ice packets and boxes, often repeatedly throughout the shift. Load ice packets into the top of cement trucks to help keep the cement cool. Follow instructions from supervisors and team leads to complete assigned tasks on time. Use proper lifting techniques and follow all safety procedures while handling materials. Maintain a clean and organized work area around the loading and unloading zones. Assist with basic mechanical tasks and learn simple mechanic work as needed. Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or process problems to the appropriate personnel. Work cooperatively with team members to support smooth and efficient operations. Essential Skills Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying boxes and ice packets throughout the shift. Capability to work safely while loading and unloading materials from trucks. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Mechanical inclination and ability to learn basic mechanic tasks. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately. Strong awareness of safety practices in a manufacturing environment. Reliability and punctuality to support consistent daily operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications No formal qualifications required. Willingness to learn new tasks and mechanical skills on the job. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment This role is based outdoors at a manufacturing site and involves working in the elements, including heat, cold, and varying weather conditions. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with an expectation to follow all site rules, use proper lifting techniques, and remain aware of surroundings at all times. Work attire should be practical for outdoor labor, such as sturdy closed-toe footwear and clothing suitable for physical work and changing weather conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Harrisburg, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
