Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to support day-to-day operations in our machine shop. This role is essential in assisting machinists and technicians by maintaining cleanliness, handling materials, operating basic equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist machinists with machine setup, operation, and part handling. Load and unload raw materials, parts, and finished goods using manual and powered equipment. Perform routine cleaning of machines, tools, and shop floor to maintain a safe and organized workspace. Conduct basic inspections using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures). Sort, label, and organize parts and tools in proper storage locations. Assist with packaging, assembly, and preparation of parts for shipping or further processing. Monitor supplies and inform supervisors of inventory needs. Dispose of scrap materials safely and according to company procedures. Adhere to all safety regulations and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Complete job tracking, quality checklists, or other required documentation accurately.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment is a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools. Willingness to learn and follow instructions closely. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Forklift certification is a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to loud noises, metal shavings, oil, and industrial machinery. Must wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
