FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER, WG-5413-10
, you will receive, store, transfer, and distribute bulk petroleum products and provides oversight to lower-graded employees. Valides documention and fuel received from incoming shipments for proper identificion of fuel and examines cargo for proper seals, safety regulions, and environment control systems. Connects grounding wire and hoses and actives pumps, valves, and gages during pumping operion. Takes temperure reading, determine American Petroleum Institute (API) gravity and converts volumes of fuel standard temperure. Ensures gage, scale, and/or meter readings, amounts of fuel received and issued, and fuel invoices are kept on file. Reports any defects, shortages, or overage in shipments to the supervisor. Performs preventive maintenance checks and services on the fuel distribution system, including lubricing pump bearings, changing strainer filters, and adding anti-algae and other additives to fuels, and obtaining and scheduling required system maintenance tests or repairs. Performs daily visual inspections of fuel facilities to inspect for leaks in storage tanks, surplus fuels, and pollution or fire concerns. Check for proper lighting, fence, and locking systems on a regular basis, as required by Defense Logistics Agency-Energy (DLA-E). To ensure th fuel facilities sisfy minimal criteria, coordines with the Facility Engineer on necessary safety, fire, and environmental control regulions and procedures. Conducts daily clean-up of storage sites, equipment, and tools. May be appointed as the Responsible Officer per DLA requirements. Accounts for all fuels th are received, stored, and distributed. Performs daily, weekly, and monthly inventory of fuels. Prepares the monthly bulk petroleum account summary in accordance with regulions. Prepares and maintains logs and records to keep track of incoming and outgoing petroleum products, daily fuel requests, and the amount of fuel consumed by each user unit. Calcules the cumulive usage and expense accounting records for each training organizion. Provides guidance to the USPFO and unit representives on fuel allocions, costs, account balances, and availability. Monitors and restricts or prohibits the issuance of fuel to units th have reached their account limits. Prepares and maintains standing opering procedures (SOP's) pertaining to fuel and modifies to local forms as needed. Serves as the physical key keeper for all petroleum supply responsibilities, including service stions. Prepares and updes the petroleum supply section of the training site's mobilizion plan. Analyzes prior fuel consumption records from ing units to prepare forecast fuel requirements and budget estimions for upcoming fiscal year, to include the informion provided by the United Stes Property and Fiscal Office (USPFO) regarding each nional guard unit's monetary allocion. Converts monetary allocions to gallon amounts and schedules fuel orders through a negotied contract with vendors who provides delivery th are scheduled to ensure adeque stock level is available when needed. Draws fuel samples for testing. Submits packaged lubricant samples for laborory analysis on a regular basis. Mixes or directs the mixing of fuels to increase flashpoint or purity level based on scientific results. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
(must have 18 months) Experience or training pumping gasoline, oil, jet fuel, or other similar products, handling lines and hoses dock operions, and measuring fuels as they are received, stored, transferred, or loaded into equipment. Experience opering one or more relively routine work stions and demonstring skill in manipuling a few controls to regule the flow of the liquids in a safe and efficient manner.
