POSITION SUMMARY
Coordinates work flow within the distribution center, conducts cycle counts, and assists with various department clerical functions. Picks orders and operates powered equipment as necessary Responsibilities
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs various duties in the distribution center, including picking orders and clerical support as assigned. Assists with coordination of daily activities of the distribution center, locating products to be moved, reporting work progress, and identifying problems as they arise. Initiates improvements in the department through individual efforts and the ideas and input of others. Provides input to department supervisors and assists in implementing improvements. Operates equipment as assigned, which may include tractor-trailers, trailer jacks, lift trucks, order pickers, SA's, power carts, pallet jacks, stretch wrap machines, hand-held RF terminals, and radios. Conducts cycle counts. Leads others in identifying and implementing ideas to improve department operations. Assumes lead responsibilities on a temporary basis as required. Assists with training new department employees as required. Completes departmental paperwork, including time and inventory reports, manifests, etc. . Keeps work area neat, clean, organized, and under control. Responsible for observing safety rules at all times and reporting unsafe conditions to department supervision. Responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies. Responsible for meeting established unit production standards. Qualifications
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
High school diploma/GED with at least one year of experience in a distribution center. Any deviations from the above requirements (e.g. substituting more work experience for required education) will be evaluated and approved by the Operations Manager.
Preferred:
High school diploma/GED with demonstrated competence in three or more distribution areas, and at least three years experience in a distribution center
