Warehouse/Yard Person

We are currently looking to hire a Warehouse/Yard Person at our Belmar location. The ideal candidate will provide professional customer service to contractors and customers at all times.

Responsibilities:

Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring that it is properly secured to prevent damage during transit. Operate equipment, such as liftgates, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to facilitate the loading and unloading process. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including the use of PPE (personal protective equipment) Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients and handling inquiries or concerns Possess an understanding of the products we carry, location and how they are sold Make up loads for delivery as instructed by supervisor Monitor inventories of materials Ensure that nothing leaves the yard without an invoice If there is any issue with quality assurance on material received, notify manager immediately Must adhere to our safety culture and follow safety protocols General grounds maintenance such as: cleaning yard, and snow removal when needed Adhere to all policies and procedures in place. Saturdays and working outside in cold or hot weather required. Familiarity with building materials is a plus Education and/or on-the-job experience needed - High School Diploma, or GED Forklift certification Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with team members and customers Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy cargo as needed Must be able to do basic Math Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to schedule changes Commitment to safety
