Job Title:
Warehouse Associate Job Description The Warehouse Associate works across multiple departments within a large distribution center, including case pick, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing, and replenishment. In this role, you operate a variety of material handling equipment to move inventory throughout the facility, support accurate order fulfillment, and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment. Responsibilities Use material handling equipment to locate, move, and deliver products, supplies, and equipment to designated areas within the distribution center. Assist with staging, loading, and securing customer orders onto trucks for delivery. Verify the quantity and quality of incoming products from vendors and other distribution centers against packing lists and documentation. Use packing list information and RF scanning equipment to pick items for customer orders, including building, wrapping, and palletizing products. Examine and inspect stock items for wear, damage, or defects and promptly notify supervision of any inventory issues. Return misplaced or incorrectly stored products to the proper storage locations to maintain accurate inventory organization. Perform inventory control functions as needed, including counting, checking, and reconciling stock levels. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area in accordance with company safety policies and procedures. Follow established policies, procedures, and techniques while exercising sound judgment under general supervision. Collaborate with supervisors and coworkers, referring complex or unusual problems for guidance and resolution. Work effectively in various warehouse departments as business needs require, supporting case pick, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing, and replenishment. Essential Skills 0-2 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or similar material handling environment. Proficiency operating warehouse material handling equipment, including stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks. Experience with RF scanning for picking, packing, and inventory control. Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and palletize products for shipment. Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical work environment. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to perform repetitive movements such as bending, squatting, and using tools like a 10-key or calculator. Attention to detail when verifying quantities, inspecting product quality, and following packing lists. Ability to follow well-defined policies and procedures while working under general supervision. Comfort working around moving machinery, loud noises, and temperature variations in a warehouse setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in warehouse distribution operations such as picking orders, packing, and dock work. Background using equipment such as cherry pickers, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks in a high-volume warehouse. Familiarity with order processing, shipping, receiving, returns, and replenishment workflows. Ability to work overtime with supervisor approval when business needs require. Comfort working in a large-scale distribution center environment with many associates across multiple shifts. Why Work Here? Work Environment You work in a large, 500,000 square foot distribution center with approximately 250 associates spread across multiple shifts. The facility supports the storage and distribution of appliances for direct and commercial customer orders. Openings are available on multiple shifts, and overtime is available with supervisor approval. The environment is generally comfortable but includes regular exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and occasional fumes typical of a busy warehouse. The role is physically demanding, requiring you to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive movements such as bending and squatting. You use a range of warehouse technologies and equipment, including RF scanners, forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, electric pallet jacks, pallet jacks, and related material handling tools, while working under established safety procedures in a structured distribution setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.
