Material Handler with Forklift

POSITION SUMMARY

The Material Handler supports pharmaceutical manufacturing operations by picking, staging, and delivering materials to production lines and rooms on schedule. This role requires certified forklift operation, scan gun and computer system proficiency, and strict adherence to GMP standards. Accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail are non-negotiable in this environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Pick, stage, and prioritize material orders for manufacturing and packaging lines per the production schedule Use computer systems to track and manage all picked and staged orders in real time Transport and process returns of leftover materials from completed jobs back to the warehouse Execute all material movements using a scan gun to complete required system transactions Put away and bin-locate newly received materials per warehouse procedures Verify material status, quantities, and identification labels during all handling activities Maintain organized, accurate staging areas to support uninterrupted production flow Operate forklifts and perform all warehouse duties in compliance with safety and GMP procedures Support additional tasks as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor; indirectly to the Warehouse Operations Manager. Works cross-functionally with Pharmacy, Blending, Compression, Encapsulation, Coating, Packaging, Receiving, and Shipping departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education High School Diploma or GED required Experience Certified forklift operator (formal training, written test, and practical evaluation required) Scan gun and computer system experience preferred Prior GMP environment experience preferred Familiarity with production documentation or batch records preferred Demonstrated reliability and consistent attendance in prior roles required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; bend, stretch, and stand for extended periods Reads and follows written and verbal instructions in English Performs basic math — weights, measurements, and counts Follows SOPs and GMP requirements without exception Works safely around moving machinery and active production environments Records production data accurately using basic computer or documentation tools Operates independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards
