Plant Supervisor Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Facilities & Warehouse Maintenance Supervisor to oversee building systems, boiler operations, and warehouse facility maintenance within an active industrial environment. This role is responsible for utility uptime, regulatory compliance, and maintenance execution while supporting daily warehouse operations. This is not a general maintenance role. The selected candidate must have a valid NJ Black Seal Boiler Operator License and demonstrated experience operating and maintaining boiler and food manufacturing systems in an industrial setting . The Facilities & Warehouse Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable NJ boiler regulations, OSHA standards, fire codes, and company safety policies. Core Responsibilities Boiler & Utility Systems Operate and monitor on-site boiler systems in compliance with NJ regulations Maintain boiler logs and inspection records Respond to pressure or temperature deviations Maintain compressors, HVAC systems, and related mechanical equipment Monitor electrical systems Maintain internal and 3 party maintenance schedules, coordinate timely internal and external repairs and maintenance visits. Serve as the designated licensed boiler operator of record, when required Ensure timely coordination of state inspections and required certifications Immediately escalate unsafe boiler or pressure vessel conditions to management Maintain proper chemical treatment and water quality standards (if applicable) Preventive & Corrective Maintenance Perform mechanical, plumbing, and light electrical repairs Maintain dock equipment, overhead doors, pallet racking, and warehouse Plant infrastructure Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement corrective action Develop and maintain a documented preventive maintenance program Track work orders and maintenance history using company systems (CMMS if applicable) Support root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures Coordinate contractors and verify quality of third-party repair work Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with NJ boiler regulations and fire code requirements Maintain an active NJ Black Seal Boiler Operator License; company will reimburse renewal costs Maintain OSHA-compliant facility conditions Enforce safe work practices within the warehouse Conduct routine safety inspections of facility systems Ensure compliance with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures Maintain documentation required for audits or regulatory review Support emergency preparedness planning (fire systems, power outages, utility failures Warehouse Support Support operational continuity during production or shipping disruptions Maintain workspace cleanliness and infrastructure readiness Support production uptime by ensuring utilities (steam, compressed air, HVAC) remain stable and reliable Assist with equipment installations or facility modifications as needed Coordinate temporary solutions during equipment downtime to minimize operational disruption Required Qualifications Active NJ Black Seal Boiler Operator License (Required) 5+ years of industrial or Food maintenance experience Proven boiler system operation experience Working knowledge of HVAC, compressors, and mechanical systems Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems (120V-480VAC); ability to troubleshoot safely within training and certification limits Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in an industrial environment Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and plumbing schematics Basic computer proficiency for maintenance tracking and documentation Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies, if required Preferred Qualifications Experience in food-grade or regulated warehouse environments OSHA 10 certification Forklift certification Scissor Lift certification Basic controls knowledge and troubleshooting Experience with CMMS systems Experience managing small maintenance teams or external contractors Authority Authorized to shut down utilities or equipment for safety reasons Authorized to coordinate third-party repair vendors Authorized to escalate compliance or safety risks immediately Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to climb ladders and access elevated mechanical rooms Ability to work in hot mechanical/boiler environments Ability to wear required PPE including hearing protection and protective footwear
Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
