Job Description
Job Summary Berliss Bearing Company is seeking a hardworking and reliable Warehouse Worker to join our team in Whippany NJ. As a Warehouse Worker, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations by ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of goods within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving, processing, and storing incoming stock, as well as picking, packing, and shipping orders.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store).
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
- Perform inventory control.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Report any discrepancies or damages.
- Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) safely.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Assist in other warehouse duties as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic math and computer skills for inventory and shipping documentation.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software is a plus.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or shipping/receiving role not required.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and move heavy objects, bend, stoop, and reach. The work environment may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, sometimes up to 50 pounds or more.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
- Bending, stooping, and reaching.
