Warehouse Worker Job Description This role involves operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and related material-handling equipment to safely load and unload semi-trailers, organize and maintain the warehouse, coolers, and freezers, and supply production lines with materials. You will work on one of two shifts, either 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, while supporting accurate inventory control and efficient order fulfillment in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in accordance with all safety policies and procedures. Load and unload semi-trailers efficiently and safely. Put away raw materials and finished goods in designated storage locations. Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly warehouse, including coolers and freezers. Complete all required paperwork legibly, accurately, and in a timely manner. Supply production lines with the appropriate materials as needed to support continuous operations. Pick customer and internal orders accurately using RF scanners and other tools. Utilize equipment to move semi-trailers as required by warehouse operations. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory control activities. Rotate through various positions within the warehouse department as operational needs require. Work both independently and as part of a team to achieve department and company goals. Follow all GMP, SOP, HACCP, and SQF rules to support quality and food safety standards. Monitor products for quality defects and promptly report issues to the line lead. Complete all required quality documentation legibly, accurately, and on time. Maintain a clean work area free of hazards and ensure safe working conditions. Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of equipment and protective measures. Essential Skills Ability to understand written and spoken English instructions. Ability to speak and write in English to complete documentation and communicate with team members. Ability to work with pork, dairy, soy, wheat, egg, shellfish, nut products, and fish. Ability to work both individually and as a member of a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Ability to take measurements and perform basic math calculations for inventory and documentation. Strong organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities. Technical and mechanical aptitude to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment. Experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, and storing goods. Experience with order picking and shipping and receiving functions. Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and use RF scanners or similar technology. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks in a warehouse or distribution environment. Familiarity with RF scanners for picking and inventory management. Knowledge of GMP, SOP, HACCP, and SQF rules and their application in a food-related facility. Comfort working in cold storage areas such as coolers and freezers. Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and operate various warehouse tools. Strong attention to detail for accurate order picking, documentation, and inventory control. Work Environment This role is based in a warehouse environment that includes coolers and freezers, where you must be able to work in a freezer for up to 8 hours. You will use forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material-handling equipment to move and organize products and semi-trailers. The position offers two primary shifts: 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Saturday-Wednesday, with the expectation of working up to 10 hours of overtime each week as needed. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety and food safety standards, and you will regularly handle products containing pork, dairy, soy, wheat, egg, shellfish, nut products, and fish. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albuquerque, NM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
