Role Overview:

The Entry-Level Steel Cutter / Yard Associate is responsible for assisting with cutting, handling, and organizing steel and metal products in the yard. This role supports daily operations, ensures safety standards are met, and provides excellent service to customers.

Class C Driver's License Minimum:

1 year experience

High School or equivalent

Forklift Experience Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Cut steel to customer specifications using company equipment. Use tape measure, ruler, or calipers to mark steel for cutting. Be able to operate a chop saw, band saw, an iron worker, and other power tools. Load, unload, and move materials and steel safely within yard. Assist customers with material selection, pickup, and inquiries. Keep grounds clean and well maintained. Ensure tools and storage areas are properly maintained and secured. Safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment Clear communication and foster a cohesive and collaborative work culture Exceptional customer service by maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, acknowledging all customers promptly Protects the company's value by keeping proprietary information confidential Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations Performs additional duties as assigned by management

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have supervisory duties

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This role requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching (including above shoulder level), gripping, and carrying. Employees must be able to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and manipulate objects, as well as perform keyboarding tasks. Climbing stairs is required. The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Work conditions include exposure to dust, extreme weather conditions, and cryogenic liquids and gases. The employee must have adequate visual acuity, including near and far vision and depth perception, to safely perform job duties. Work Hours and Environment:

This is a full-time position requiring availability Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM; The work environment is a dynamic retail setting with continuous customer interaction.
