Rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required Position Summary The Bagging Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated bagging and packaging equipment to transfer clay from silos and mills into 50 lb sacks, poly bags, and super sacks. This role also operates a forklift to move finished pallets and load customer trucks while ensuring product quality, safety compliance, and accurate order fulfillment. Duties & Responsibilities Operate automated bagger, super sacker, palletizer, and forklift Troubleshoot equipment when production slows or stops Pull pallets of stacked bags from the palletizer and load customer trucks Fill customer orders per the Master Shipping Sheet (MSS) Adjust packaging, clay type, and bag weights to meet customer specifications Record production data on daily production reports, including downtime and standby time Manually weigh bags to ensure compliance with specifications Manually reposition bags on pallets when necessary Clean machinery, equipment, and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operation Includes end-of-shift cleanup Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times Skills & Knowledge Requirements Strong communication skills to relay order status and loading updates to: Mill Operator Pull Out Operator Production Manager Ability to read and write for: Inspection paperwork Safety and operating procedures Basic math skills to accurately process work orders and verify weights Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues Strong attention to detail and quality Required Activities / Physical Requirements Ability to bend, stoop, balance, lift, and hold up to 50 lbs.
