Job Summary:

As a Warehouse Helper Intern, you will assist in the day-to-day operations of our equipment parts warehouse. This opportunity offers valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry and provides opportunities for learning and skill development. Our Construction Equipment Group is currently seeking a Part-time Parts Warehouse Intern for our Batavia, NY branch. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to: Inventory Management

• Assist in receiving and organizing incoming parts.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory level and locations.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.

Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols while working in the warehouse.
• Participate in safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness among colleagues.
• Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors immediately.

Warehouse Organizations:

• Help maintain a clean and organized warehouse/yard environment.
• Assist in labeling shelves, bins, and storage areas for efficient retrieval of parts.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and to work in a physically demanding environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced warehouse staff.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines at all times.

• Performs other duties as assigned
• Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time
• Work schedule: M-F, day shift
• High level of accuracy
• Ability to interface with customers in a professional and courteous manner
• Computer programs - Epicor/Silk systems, shipping software such as UPS Worldwide and FedEx
• Language Skills -

Basic:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Mathematical Skills -

Basic:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

• Reasoning Ability -

Basic:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
