Responsibilities:
Uphold the fundamentals of the Nicholson Nine and Responsible Care Guiding Principles Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security are the responsibility of every PVS employee! Primary Job Function :
Individuals assigned to this position will be primarily responsible for safely, efficiently, and accurately moving material throughout the warehouse; and the safety and quality efforts of the Material Handlers assigned. The Lead Material Handler will assist the Operations Supervisor in leading the employees and the inventory in PVS Nolwood Buffalo's warehouses. Primary Job Duties Include:
Opening or closing the facility as needed, Unload pre-packaged pallets of various chemicals and other goods from our suppliers, Loading ours and our customer's trucks by hand, fork trucks, or pallet jack, Verify that all incoming and outgoing loads match the paperwork, Prepare / check shipping documents, Assist with bulk chemical unloading from tanker into chemical bulk storage tanks, Bulk chemical dispensing from tanker or chemical bulk storage tank into totes, drums, carboys, pails, and jugs, Closing containers per DOT specifications, Inspect all incoming and outgoing products for damage / leakage, Inspect the chemical bulk storage tanks and piping for leaks and spills each operating day, Fill in as needed in any area at the facility, Blending chemicals to specific customer orders, Washing totes and drums, Maintaining area housekeeping (sweeping, garbage removal, bathroom maintenance, etc.), Ensure access to aisles, fire extinguishers, exits, electrical panels, and emergency eyewash / showers are not blocked, Perform and document daily fork truck inspections, Inspect area safety / eyewash showers weekly, Respond to emergencies as specified in the facility's Emergency Action Plan, Labeling and marking all containers as per the Hazard Communication Standard, Participate in limited spill response, Assist with organizing and maintaining existing inventory, Alert management when supply is low, Ensure staff are following all PVS Nolwood Buffalo safety rules, policies, and procedures for the work being performed, Inventory control and management as directed, Initiate service reports, Notify inventory control and purchasing when product is missing in a delivery, Train employees in appropriate material handling procedures and best practices, Working knowledge of computers and ability to train others, Perform cycle counts on short ships and product not found, Assist Dispatcher with logistics, Ensure regulatory compliance per PVS Nolwood Buffalo established procedures. that may be included as part of an employee's job duties. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
All employees of PVS are expected to work safely, follow all procedures, and wear the proper PPE at all times on the job. PPE has been determined by the Safety Data Sheets, manufacturer recommendations, workplace hazard analysis and from personal exposure monitoring data. This PPE is provided by PVS and includes: Steel-toe work shoes, Safety glasses, Sleeved shirts, High visibility clothing.
