Job Description

Welcome to Midwest ! We are the largest photo, video, audio, and printing specialty store in Central Ohio . While our store's size may make us seem like a bigger company. we stay true to our humble roots as a small family business. Most of our staff are photographers, artists, and creators who are part of the community they themselves serve here at Midwest Photo. We pride ourselves on staying honest and personable . Ensuring that our customers are cared for even after you leave our store. We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Warehouse and Distribution Associate role within the Company. This role is responsible for maintaining order and performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, performing basic maintenance throughout the store as needed, as well as delivering orders throughout the Columbus metropolitan area. This position requires a keen attention to detail as it is responsible for inspecting products for defects and damages.
Required Duties Order Processing:
Accurately process, pack, and ship orders according to established procedures. Prepare products for shipping with attention to packaging standards and product safety. Communicate with team members to address order status, delays, or quality issues. Perform product quality checks to ensure accuracy and condition prior to shipment. Maintain accurate records for packing slips, labels, and shipping documentation.
Receiving & Inventory Management:
Receive, sort, and store incoming inventory using a FIFO (first-in, first-out) system. Inspect products for damage or discrepancies and report issues as needed. Assist with stock rotation, restocking, and cycle counts. Maintain an organized system for inventory storage and labeling.
Warehouse Organization:
Keep the warehouse clean, orderly, and safe at all times. Follow warehouse layout guidelines for efficient space utilization. Use the straddle stacker and other warehouse tools to move items as required. Perform light equipment checks and report any issues promptly. Follow all safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment.
Maintenance:
Perform basic maintenance inside and outside the facility, including sweeping, minor repairs, and general upkeep.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies while performing warehouse tasks. Identify and report hazards or unsafe behaviors to leadership immediately.
Essential Skills/Experience:
High accuracy and attention to detail. Self-directed and effective with minimal supervision. Motivated and goal-oriented, ability to prioritize work and exhibit good time management. Experience in handling, storing, and shipping materials. Physical capability for standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects up to 60 pounds. Basic computer and math skills. Good written and oral communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED preferred. 1-2 years of shipping and receiving warehouse experience. Familiarity with CounterPoint software or other point-of-sale/inventory management tools.
