Job Description
Job Summary The Material Handler is responsible for assisting with the flow of inbound and outbound materials to support daily warehouse operations. This role plays a crucial role in the accurate receiving, inspection, documentation, and storage of materials, as well as timely preparation and shipment of outbound orders. This role will also assist with general material handling and inventory management to maintain an efficient, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, parts, and products for accuracy and quality. Safely load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment. Accurately label, store, and organize materials according to established inventory and safety procedures. Pull and stage materials for production, shipping, or recycling operations as directed. Maintain accurate records of material movements, inventory levels, and transactions in ERP or tracking systems. Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation of discrepancies. Ensure all materials are handled in compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and safety standards. Communicate effectively with production, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely material flow. Identify and report damaged, non-conforming, or hazardous materials to supervisors. Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse layout, efficiency, and material traceability. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Ability to follow SOPs, document processes, and adapt to evolving operational needs. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with WMS and/or ERP systems strongly preferred. Understanding of universal waste or hazardous materials compliance Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, or kneel for extended periods. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. Comfortable working in warehouse and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, cold, and uneven surfaces (gravel lot) Must be able to climb on and off forklifts or platforms as needed. Manual dexterity is required to operate handheld scanners, tablets, and tools.
