POSITION PURPOSE
The Lead Dockhand may be the first person our guests interact with when arriving to the marina. It is important that they deliver a superior marina experience to all our guests. Lead dock hands assist the Dockmaster and direct Dockhands in all duties related to the marina. Doing so while being friendly, positive, and accommodating, they also keep the area clean, safe, and well maintained.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with leading a team of dock hands and supervising related operations Assist customers and guests with general boating needs per the direction of the Dockmaster including but not limited to securing boats to docks, black water pump out, waste disposal, and general facility sanitation Provide the highest level of guest service creating the best and most memorable experience for both customers and members Comply with all OSHA and environmental regulations, adhering to all site rules, processes, policies, and expectations, including proper wear of PPE as required for a specified task or work area
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have prior experience as a dockhand Ability to work independently to achieve goals and targets Some knowledge of marina operations or willingness to be trained in them Proven track record or innate ability to interface with customers positively and successfully
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to thirty (30) pounds Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in instances of emergency Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally Must be able to work flexible hours based on the needs of the property to include weekends and holidays as needed.
