FORKLIFT CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

Red Plate Foods needs a full time Warehouse Associate to provide support for warehouse and equipment related operations including inventory movement, coordinating inbound/outbound shipments and maintaining warehouse cleanliness and organization standards. This position also includes driving a box truck locally and approximately monthly overnight trips to Portland for product delivery and ingredient and supplies pick up. Red Plate is growing quickly, and we are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a team environment, cheerfully interacts with coworkers, loves a fast-paced environment, is up for constant change and is comfortable with independent problem solving while recognizing situations that require asking your manager for help. This position is physical and requires repeated standing, bending, twisting and lifting of heavy boxes and equipment in a single shift. This role also frequently operates in a cold storage environment. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.

DUTIES INCLUDE

Performing general warehouse duties including lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, following safety guidelines, and operating equipment. Forklift operation (requires certification, preferred but not required to apply) Driving a box truck both in town and for deliveries/ pickups in the Portland Metro and Willamette Valley areas. Occasional overnight stays for late night/early am deliveries to receiving warehouses, company paid hotel.

• Driving is a minor portion of this position.

Most time is spent in the warehouse. Maintaining receiving logs and other paperwork necessary for food production facilities and warehouse safety requirements. Assisting bakery production operations through timely delivery of ingredient and packaging requests. Equipment and fleet maintenance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS A

minimum of 1 years warehouse/operations experience. (Candidates without a full year or more employment with the same employer will not be considered.) Must be able to work well both independently and as part of a diverse team. Must be able to handle stressful situations and time critical tasks while maintaining a professional attitude and demeanor. Demonstrates good organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to handle the ambiguity of a small company environment and come to work with a team mentality, willing to pitch in and work on whatever needs doing. The interview will include an in person and working portion. The right candidate must be able to work directly with the warehouse manager while showing they can join the team comfortably. Clean driving record. Pass pre-employment physical and drug test. (Random drug testing is part of this position, as heavy equipment and vehicles operation and a part of standard operations.)
