Job Description

Job Title:
Driver/loader Role:
Driver/loaders are responsible for basic vehicle safety and operational condition, double checking loads for paperwork accuracy before departing sites, delivering products to customer delivery addresses in a safe, courteous, and timely manner, and effectively and courteously communicating with all customers and team members. Driver/loaders will work closely with the Yard Lead to coordinate delivery schedules and successfully fulfill customer delivery orders. Driver/loaders report directly to the Yard Lead.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Communicate with customers before and after deliveries to confirm delivery times and placement of products. Address any concerns or unforeseen delays to customers while keeping the Yard Lead informed throughout the delivery process. •
Team Support:
Consistently support the company, customers, and fellow employees by maintaining a positive attitude and working collaboratively. •
Vehicle Inspection:
Conduct daily inspections of delivery vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition. Report any maintenance needs or safety concerns to the Yard Lead. •
Load Security:
Ensure that all loads are properly secured and balanced to prevent shifting during transit. Use appropriate tie-downs and other securing devices as needed to secure loads and protect products from damage. •
Driving Safety:
Following all driving laws and maintaining a defensive driving mindset to protect yourself, others, the truck, the load, property, and the company's reputation. Maintain a clean driving record and report any incidents immediately. • Forklift operation: Operate forklifts safely and effectively to move, pull or unload bulk product. •
Building Materials Knowledge:
Possess a strong understanding of various building materials and their applications. •
Customer Assistance:
Assist customers with loading products into their vehicles when deliveries are slow. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns. •
Warehouse & Yard Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and organization in yards and warehouses, ensuring stock is safely stored and easily accessible. •
Other Duties:
Respond positively to requests from Yard Lead and perform well other duties as needed.

Understand best practices for loading and unloading of company delivery trucks, common carriers, and customer vehicles. •
Building Materials Knowledge:
Possess a strong understanding of various building materials and their applications. •
GPS Proficiency:
Use GPS systems for accurate route planning and timely arrivals. Familiarity with various GPS applications and devices is essential. •
Vehicle Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and other routine checks. •
Traffic Laws:
Knowledge of local traffic laws and routes to ensure compliance and efficient navigation. • Attention to

Detail-oriented with a focus on efficiency and accuracy in all tasks, from loading and securing deliveries to completing paperwork. •

Ability to handle unexpected situations and solve problems efficiently while on the road. •

Forklift Operation:
Proficient and safe operation of yard and truck-mounted forklifts to ensure timely, quality deliveries.

Golden Rule:
Treats others the way. you want others to treat you MUST be able to pass a drug test (marijuana included) MUST be able to lift over 60lbs consistently. PT - Mon, Tues and Wed 830am to 430pm Potential for summer, full time, depending on the person, then back to PT from Fall to Spring.
