Warehouse Associate Job Description The Warehouse Associate plays an active, hands-on role loading and unloading trucks and supporting daily warehouse operations in a large, organized facility. This position requires being on your feet throughout the shift, handling physical tasks, and maintaining consistent processes to keep inventory moving smoothly. After conversion to a permanent role, the position may include occasional ride-alongs to customer locations to assist with deliveries and provide basic customer support. Responsibilities Physically load and unload inventory from trucks and within the warehouse. Support daily warehouse operations with a strong focus on organization and process consistency. Maintain orderly storage areas and contribute to efficient inventory flow. Adapt to changing priorities and pivot to support warehouse projects as needed. Work independently to complete repetitive tasks with minimal supervision. Demonstrate professionalism and reliability in attendance, communication, and work habits. After conversion, occasionally accompany drivers on ride-alongs to customer locations to assist with deliveries and provide customer-facing support. Essential Skills Comfort working on your feet for the entire shift in an active, hands-on role. Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. General understanding of warehouse operations and inventory processes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling inventory and documentation. High level of professionalism and reliability, including consistent attendance and punctuality. Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and stay productive with minimal supervision. Previous warehouse experience, including loading and unloading trucks and general labor tasks. Basic logistics awareness to support efficient movement and storage of goods. Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn forklift operation is highly valued. Customer service experience is beneficial, as the role may become partially customer-facing upon conversion during pickups and deliveries. Experience working in logistics, moving, or transportation environments is an advantage. Comfort working in a team environment while also being able to complete individual tasks. Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with team members and customers. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse located in NE Portland. The environment is active and physically engaging, with frequent movement throughout the shift and regular lifting of up to 50 pounds. Warehouse temperatures vary with the weather but remain relatively cool during the summer months. Work is performed Monday through Friday on a consistent daytime schedule, typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The facility operates with a small, team-focused staff, and after conversion, the role may include occasional ride-alongs to customer locations to assist with deliveries and provide on-site support. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
