@AEROTEK.COM• Job Description The Material Handler works in a shop environment and is responsible for handling large parts, accurately recording inventory, building crates, and preparing products for shipment. This role operates a variety of material handling equipment and tools, ensures orders are packed and loaded correctly, and supports smooth warehouse and manufacturing operations through careful documentation and communication. Responsibilities Handle large parts and materials in the shop safely and efficiently. Build crates and pack products based on daily orders in a timely and accurate manner. Locate products using inventory technology and established warehouse systems. Operate equipment such as saws, palletizers, dolly loaders, pallet wrappers, forklifts, and electric pallet jacks. Retrieve orders according to quantity, size, and specifications, ensuring accuracy before shipment. Wrap orders securely before loading them on trucks to prevent damage during transit. Restock inventory manually or using warehouse equipment to maintain organized storage areas. Keep accurate records of completed orders, inventory movements, and related documentation. Follow good manufacturing practices and required work safety procedures at all times. Communicate routinely with operations to support smooth workflow and adherence to inventory and safety procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned to support production, shipping, and warehouse activities. Essential Skills 1-2 years of shipping and material handling experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience following written and verbal instructions in a production or warehouse setting. Hands-on material moving experience using warehouse or shop equipment. Record-keeping skills for tracking orders and inventory transactions. Basic computer literacy to use inventory systems and shipping tools. Proficiency with material handling equipment, including forklifts and electric pallet jacks. Warehouse experience involving picking, packing, production support, loading, and shipping and receiving. Mechanical inclination and comfort using power tools and hand tools to crate products for shipping. Ability to follow good manufacturing practices and safety procedures consistently. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with operations and support smooth workflow. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with lean manufacturing practices is desired. Ability to operate saws, palletizers, dolly loaders, pallet wrappers, and related shop equipment. Attention to detail to ensure correct quantities, sizes, and packaging for all orders. Organizational skills to maintain orderly inventory and work areas. Reliability and time management skills to meet daily shipping and production deadlines. Why Work Here?
