Material Handler Job Description The Material Handler supports production operations by safely moving, storing, and organizing raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility. This role focuses on accurate order picking, inventory handling, and timely replenishment of workstations while following all safety policies and procedures. Responsibilities Use manual pallet jacks to safely load and unload raw materials, scrap, and finished goods within the facility. Identify, pick, and transport the correct raw materials and parts to their designated locations in a timely manner. Pick orders accurately using paper pick tickets and ensure materials are staged correctly for production or shipment. Replenish workstations with required materials and components to support continuous production flow. Manage and organize paper pick tickets to maintain accurate records of materials moved and orders fulfilled. Operate all material handling equipment in a safe manner while following company policies and standard operating procedures. Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment (such as safety glasses, protective eyewear, and cut-resistant gloves) at all times. Assist with stocking, inventory counts, and general material organization within the production and warehouse areas. Support general labor tasks related to sheet metal and production activities as needed. Handle packing, packaging, and loading tasks to prepare finished goods for shipment or storage. Use basic hand tools as required to complete material handling and general labor duties. Essential Skills 1-2 years of manufacturing or production material handling experience. High School Diploma or GED. Proficiency in material handling and inventory management. Experience with picking and order picking processes. Ability to use RF scanners for inventory and order processing. Ability to operate manual pallet jacks safely and efficiently. Knowledge of stocking procedures and inventory count processes. Ability to read and understand Bills of Material. Ability to use basic hand tools in a production environment. Experience with general labor tasks in a production or sheet metal setting. Ability to perform packing, packaging, and loading tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating forklifts in a production or warehouse environment. Experience in sheet metal production or similar manufacturing environments. Familiarity with replenishment processes for production workstations. Comfort working with hand tools and basic production equipment. Strong attention to detail when handling inventory and pick tickets. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, loud, and physically demanding environment. Why Work Here? The environment is fast-paced and physically active, requiring comfort with standing, walking, and moving materials throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
