Job Description

Job Overview The Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently moving raw materials, workpieces, and scrap using forklifts, cranes, and related equipment. This role supports CNC Machine Operators by staging materials, assisting with setups, and maintaining smooth production flow in the block cell. Strong communication and teamwork are essential. Responsibilities Move and load heavy workpieces safely in line with quality and safety standards. Coordinate closely with Operators to keep production running efficiently. Maintain organized staging and storage areas with accurate documentation. Communicate clearly with team members to support productivity and minimize downtime. Key Duties Operate forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to transport stock and scrap between storage, production, and loading areas. Organize and stage materials before and after loading; maintain proper traceability. Follow work orders or verbal instructions to determine material and equipment needs. Inspect and properly identify workpieces. Secure workpieces accurately in fixtures or against stops. Load/unload materials from machines, manage scrap conveyors and hoppers. Assist Operators by supplying tools, materials, and performing support tasks such as cleaning and basic maintenance. Keep equipment and storage areas clean, organized, and secure. Perform additional duties as needed to support production and other departments. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Entry-level; prior industrial or manufacturing experience preferred.
