Erie, PA Job Details Full-time Up to $20 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Customer communication High school diploma or GED Continuous improvement AS400 Rigging Warehouse experience Materials handling Crane Full Job Description Warehouse Material Handler-2nd Shift Split shift 2-10:30 OVERVIEW Assist and learn from the warehouse department supervisor and staff with the daily operational processes, systems, and customer/supplier relationships concerning all general warehouse material handling needs. This position requires effective communication, continuous improvements, and promoting a harmonious work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ability to load material for shipments onto trucks per DOT and company standards. Ability to load trucks in such a way as to ensure material integrity. Knowledge of inventory/location. Assure incoming material is unloaded, inspected, identified, and staged. Knowledge of lifting procedures and rigging relating to cranes, forklifts, and other lifting devices. Ability to operate cranes, forklifts, and other lifting devices. Assure incoming material is unloaded, inspected, identified, and staged. Inventory control. Provide excellent customer service both externally and internally. Obtain material from various storage areas and assure orders are filled to specifications. Assist truck drivers with loading, unloading, tarping and chaining as required. Help load cars, vans and trucks with different materials through counter sales. Knowledge of company procedure for receiving material. Machine maintenance and safety. Ability to interface with computer systems (AS 400) and complete paperwork. Perform other duties, shop wide, as assigned.
