Job Description

Overview Dependable and mission-driven Warehouse Associates support the receipt, handling, storage, and distribution of donated food products. This role is essential to maintaining organized warehouse operations and ensuring that donations are processed safely and efficiently to support community meal programs. The ideal candidate has experience operating pallet handling equipment, maintains strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working in a team-oriented, fast-paced nonprofit environment.
Responsibilities:
Donation Receiving & Handling Receive, inspect, and document incoming food donations Warehouse Operations Store inventory in designated locations Maintain accurate organization and rotation of stock (FIFO practices) Prepare and stage products for kitchen use or distribution Maintain cleanliness and safety of warehouse areas Support inventory counts and reporting Equipment Operation Safely operate: Manual pallet jacks Walk-behind pallet jacks Reach pallet jacks Follow all equipment safety guidelines and protocols Report maintenance or safety issues promptly Team & Mission Support Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers Assist with special projects, events, or large donation processing Support the mission and values of Caring for Friends through respectful service Qualifications Experience operating pallet jacks and reach equipment required Ability to follow safety procedures and organizational standards Strong organizational and teamwork skills Reliable attendance and punctuality Basic recordkeeping or inventory familiarity Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods Comfortable working in warehouse and varying temperature environment Mission Alignment All employees are expected to support and reflect the mission and values of Caring for Friends, demonstrating compassion, respect, and commitment to serving the community. Sort and organize products according to storage and safety standards Identify damaged, spoiled, or unsuitable items and follow proper procedures Assist with unloading deliveries and staging products
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
