Full Job Description Job Purpose:
The Warehouseman at Horizon Stevedoring is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate handling, storage, and transportation of goods within the warehouse. This role is integral to maintaining the flow of inventory and supporting the overall operations of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts, including clamp forklifts, to transport goods efficiently within the warehouse. Load and unload trucks accurately, ensuring proper handling and placement of inventory. Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage and verify quantities to maintain inventory accuracy. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations and address any logistical challenges. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and company standards. Assist in inventory management tasks, including stock counts and data entry, to support inventory accuracy and availability. Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to report any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse environment. Proven experience operating forklifts, particularly clamp forklifts. Experience in loading and unloading trucks with precision and care.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong ability to inspect shipments for damage and verify quantities accurately. Proficiency in handling and placement of inventory to ensure efficient warehouse operations. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors. Basic understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
