Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM - 2:30 PM We are currently hiring a Material Handler / Telehandler Operator for a structural steel fabrication environment in York, PA. This is a full-time, first-shift opportunity offering consistent hours and competitive starting pay. Position Overview In this role, you will be responsible for handling and moving structural steel materials within a fabrication yard using powered equipment. You'll support daily operations by ensuring materials are properly staged, organized, and ready for production or shipment. Key Responsibilities Operate telehandler/forklift to safely move, stage, and load/unload structural steel materials including I-beams, columns, and fabricated components in the yard Organize and maintain yard inventory, ensuring materials are properly staged for fabrication, shipping, and erection schedules Read and interpret shop drawings, pick lists, and material tags to accurately identify and handle steel components Assist with loading trucks, securing loads, and coordinating with drivers and shop personnel to ensure timely deliveries Perform routine equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and report any mechanical or safety issues Maintain a safe work environment by following company policies, proper rigging practices, and OSHA safety standards

Requirements:

Experience operating telehandlers, forklifts, or similar heavy equipment in a steel yard or construction environment Ability to safely handle large structural steel members (I-beams, plates, columns) Basic blueprint or material tag reading experience preferred Knowledge of rigging, load balancing, and safe material handling practices Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift 50+ lbs as needed Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Pay:
