Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Material Handler to join our Switchgear team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, managing consumable materials, and supporting production operations by ensuring materials are readily available. Your efforts will directly contribute to operational efficiency and the successful delivery of products used in critical infrastructure systems worldwide.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory levels of consumable materials and production supplies to support daily manufacturing operations.
Material Replenishment:
Coordinate with Stores personnel and outside vendors to ensure timely replenishment of inventory and maintain appropriate stock levels.
Inventory Control:
Utilize IFS and Stores Control systems to track inventory transactions and maintain inventory accuracy.
Material Movement:
Transport materials and supplies throughout the facility using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Receiving & Stocking:
Receive, inspect, organize, and stock incoming materials while ensuring proper storage and identification.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts and inventory audits as required.
Production Support:
Ensure production areas are supplied with the necessary consumables and materials to meet daily schedules.
Safety & Housekeeping:
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Team Support:
Collaborate with team members, Stores personnel, and supervisors to resolve material shortages and support production goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in material handling, inventory control, warehouse operations, or manufacturing preferred. Forklift experience and the ability to safely operate material handling equipment. Working knowledge of inventory management systems; experience with IFS and Stores Control systems preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to maintain accurate records and inventory transactions. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and outside vendors. Ability to lift, move, and position materials up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working independently or in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Willingness to follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. High School Diploma or GED required.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
This position requires standing for long periods, repetitive movement, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in an industrial production environment. Flexibility to work different shifts or overtime as production demands.
