Job Description

3rd Shift Material Handler/Production Labor Jennmar Services is hiring 3rd Shift material handlers for their JM Steel plant in Huger, SC. This is an entry-level position. The employee will perform a variety of steel processing labor duties at a training-level capacity under the direction of a mentor employee.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Dependability to be consistently at work and on time Basic reading and math skills Basic verbal/written comprehension skills Basic measuring skills using tape measure, micrometers, and/or calipers Repetitive standing and/or bending capability during normal phase duties Medium/heavy (20-75 lbs.) lifting capability during normal phase duties Forklift/Overhead Crane experience a plus
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Perform a safety evaluation of assigned work station and surrounding area. Assist slitter line by performing loading, tooling, banding, and rewind actions. Assist press line by stacking plate bundles. Operate material handling motorized equipment (upon completion of in-house training/certification) to load/unload trucks and train cars. Assist maintenance personnel in a helper capacity. Perform work station and surrounding area housekeeping tasks as required. Perform any other general labor duties as directed by supervisory personnel to ensure efficient operation of facility.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Majority of work performance is conducted in a steel service center plant using heavy production machinery, material handling and job-specific equipment and tools. Safety training, written procedures, and continual improvement measures are implemented to eliminate or control any physical/environmental hazards that may be present in the work place. Employee use of personal protective equipment is enforced for all phases of job performance to prevent bodily injury.
Payrate:
$19.40
Schedule of Material Handler:
Monday - Friday 3rd shift: 11:00pm - 7:00am Overtime when requested #IND55
Pay:
$19.40 per hour
