As a Transportation Associate (Lumper) , you will be responsible for handling the physical aspects of unloading, sorting, and moving products. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace are essential to our overall operation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist in unloading delivery vehicles and transferring products to the warehouse or designated storage areas. Handle and sort products according to established guidelines, ensuring proper handling and storage to prevent damage. Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, to move products efficiently and safely. Verify product quantities and quality against delivery documents, reporting any discrepancies or damages. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, including removing empty pallets, debris, and packaging materials. Assist in inventory counts and stock rotation activities to ensure accurate product availability. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries during loading/unloading activities. Collaborate with warehouse personnel and drivers to ensure efficient workflow and smooth operations. Assist in other warehouse tasks, such as picking, packing, and stocking, as needed. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is preferred. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, including boxes, totes, and pallets, on a regular basis. Familiarity with material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, is a plus. Basic math skills to verify product quantities and perform inventory counts accurately. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and guidelines accurately. Physical stamina and endurance to perform manual labor tasks for extended periods. Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including cold or hot temperatures and dusty environments. Punctuality and reliability in meeting work schedules.
