Full Job Description Position Summary:
We are seeking an organized, proactive Material Handler to join our 1st Shift team. In this role, you will take full ownership of material movement and inventory organization within the plant, serving as a vital support system for our production teams. Your primary objective will be to stage jobs ahead of production schedule requirements, deliver correct materials to dedicated work centers, and maintain complete inventory traceability, ensuring our production specialists can focus exclusively on manufacturing uptime and efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities:
Material Logistics:
Safely transport raw materials and work-in-process (WIP) parts to and from production machines to support a seamless, continuous workflow.
Staging & Clearance:
Promptly remove completed parts from machines and transport them to designated staging areas or storage locations.
Departmental Loading:
Load components into specialized racks tailored for the Forming and Welding departments to minimize setup delays.
Inventory Precision:
Scan parts accurately into specified rack locations using warehouse management systems to ensure flawless inventory accuracy and traceability.
Downtime Mitigation:
Monitor active production areas constantly to ensure lines remain stocked with necessary materials, systematically eliminating material-related downtime.
Housekeeping & Organization:
Actively assist in managing, organizing, and optimizing the layout of all material storage areas inside the facility.
Pallet Management Responsibilities:
Inventory Monitoring:
Continuously monitor the facility's pallet supply and proactively place replenishment orders to match production volumes.
Yard Upkeep:
Maintain an exceptionally clean, organized, and professional exterior pallet storage yard.
Safety Stacking:
Stack incoming and empty pallets neatly, stably, and in strict adherence to facility safety protocols.
Disposal & Waste Control:
Systematically identify, separate, and safely dispose of damaged or oversized wooden pallets into the designated wood dumpster.
Role Requirements & Preferred Skills:
Prior experience in material handling, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing operations preferred. Proven capability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently. Familiarity with RF barcode scanners or digital inventory tracking software. Strong attention to detail, proactive organizational skills, and the physical stamina required to lift and move materials throughout the shift.
Pay:
From $21.00 per hour
