Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate who is responsible for warehouse operations including receiving, handling, storing, picking and straight freight. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Receive and verify shipping documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations. Monitor and perform track-and-trace functions for inbound and outbound trucks to ensure accurate shipment visibility and timely updates. Assist with dispatch and operations coordination activities. Collaborate with other CES terminal locations to facilitate freight movement, operational efficiency, and service continuity. Communicate shipment status updates, operational concerns, and capacity needs with internal teams and partner locations. Update inventory management systems to reflect the status of incoming and outgoing loads.
Efficiency Analysis:
Analyze delivery times and implement strategies to optimize delivery efficiency. Develop effective communication with carriers, transfer companies, and team members to resolve any shipping or receiving issues. Conduct daily visual inspections of all trucks and trailers within the yard and document any damage or deficiencies. Assist with identifying and red-tagging trailers that must be placed out of service. Ensure that equipment and facilities are well-maintained and report any issues promptly. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the yard, warehouse and parking areas by removing trash, debris, and other hazards. Assist in training operations personnel and new hires in warehouse procedures and best practices as requested. Pick up and deliver drivers, equipment, parts, and materials as directed. Support ongoing warehouse organization initiatives, including inventory, parts and tool management. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Perform regular audits of warehouse operations, emphasizing accuracy in loading and unloading processes. Collaborate with management to develop and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), seat belts, forklift horns, and other safety devices. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred. Previous warehouse or material-handling experience preferred. Proven capability in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. Physical Requirements and Essential Job Functions Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse operations. Capability to stand, walk, bend, and reach frequently within a warehouse environment. Regular use of a computer, phone, transportation management systems, email, and other business systems to perform planning, communication, reporting and audit responsibilities.
