Job Title:
Warehouse Worker Job Description This warehouse worker position focuses on maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient industrial parts distribution facility. You will primarily perform cleaning and basic warehouse tasks, including reorganizing shelves, sweeping, and using floor sweepers throughout a non-climate-controlled warehouse. You may also assist with picking and pulling ticket orders and handling parts inventory as needed. This role suits a self-starter with a positive attitude who takes pride in keeping a busy warehouse safe, orderly, and running smoothly. Responsibilities Perform general cleaning duties throughout the warehouse, including sweeping floors, removing debris, and maintaining a neat and orderly work area. Operate floor sweepers and other cleaning tools to keep aisles, workstations, and storage areas clean and safe. Re-organize shelves and storage locations to ensure parts and materials are stored in an orderly and accessible manner. Assist with warehouse inventory activities, including working in the parts and tool room to help maintain accurate stock levels. Pick and pull ticket orders as needed, ensuring the correct parts and materials are selected and prepared for distribution. Handle parts and materials safely, including loading and unloading items as required. Use a warehouse management system (WMS) and RF scanner when needed to track inventory and process orders. Follow all safety procedures while working in a non-climate-controlled, industrial warehouse environment. Maintain attention to detail to ensure cleanliness, organization, and accuracy in inventory and order picking. Collaborate with a small warehouse team, communicating clearly and supporting coworkers to meet daily workload and cleaning goals. Work the full shift from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. or until work is completed for the day, as required. Essential Skills Experience performing general labor and basic warehouse cleaning, including sweeping and general housekeeping tasks. Ability to lift, stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods in a physically demanding warehouse role. Experience as a warehouse worker, including basic material handling tasks such as loading and unloading. Familiarity with order picking and pulling parts to fulfill ticket orders. Ability to work safely and effectively in a non-climate-controlled, industrial warehouse environment. Strong attention to detail when cleaning, organizing shelves, and handling parts inventory. Self-starter mindset with the ability to stay motivated and productive with minimal supervision. Positive attitude and willingness to assist with a variety of warehouse tasks as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using RF scanners to support inventory and order processing. Familiarity with a warehouse management system (WMS). experience in parts handling, tool room operations, or warehouse inventory management. Prior experience working in an industrial environment that distributes parts and equipment for construction or similar industries. Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic, with potential for longer-term consideration beyond the initial contract. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
