JOB SUMMARY
The individual in this role will serve as a major contributor to Bridgetown Natural Foods's ability to plan and forecast for future production needs. The Material Handler will ensure that we know what we have on the floor, what is being ordered, when it is expected to arrive, and when it is expected to be used in production. By providing accurate accounting for our warehouse products and ingredients, the Material Handler will significantly aid in the productivity within Bridgetown Natural Foods.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operate a forklift, sit-down and standup Complete accurate daily cycle counts Participate in monthly physical counts Receive ingredients (unloading of trucks) Ship Finished Goods (loading trucks) Stage/Backstage raw materials to production line Complete all shift documentation accurately and adhere to all daily standard work Return all warehouse documents and charts at end of shift Adhere to GMP (good manufacturing practice) guidelines Perform routine housekeeping of assigned work area and adjacent areas Work to ensure minimum downtime is experienced through effective organization and time management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must be 18 years of age High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Experience in a manufacturing/food production environment preferred Experience driving a forklift. Sit-down and Standup experience preferred Basic math skills a must (ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide) Ability and willingness to learn and apply company standards including, but not limited to lock-out/tag-out, safety practices, GMPs, SOPs, employee handbook, warehouse safety rules, etc. Must be customer-and team-oriented, reliable and able to meet attendance standards Ability to work in a team environment, being flexible and adaptive to changing needs Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment Strong time management skills required; ability to adhere to a schedule and sustain the required pace of work Ability to handle multiple competing assignments without losing focus on quality and food safety, priorities and daily plans, as well as sticking to established workflows. Ability to understand and communicate instructions in English.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS
Ability to sit/walk/stand up to 12 hours per day Ability to operate a forklift safely Ability to regularly lift and manipulate bags, boxes, and buckets up to and including 60 pounds Able to work in an environment containing nuts, peanuts, dairy, grains and other allergens Must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately Must be available for all shifts, nights, weekends, some holidays necessary and some overtime.
