YARD JOCKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operate a yard truck to move trailers between designated buildings and other company facilities as required. Position trailers for loading and unloading based on operational needs, ensuring proper alignment for forklifts and material handling equipment. Perform thorough pre-trip inspections of trailers to meet DOT compliance standards; report any issues or discrepancies to management immediately. Accurately log and track all movements within the yard, including incoming and outgoing shipments, stock levels, and asset locations. Communicate trailer moves, trailer numbers, and any yard issues clearly with the warehouse team and management. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures. Act as a primary point of contact for yard-related inquiries and requests, working independently to resolve issues and complete tasks as needed. Ensure all yard operations are completed in a timely and efficient manner, following established procedures.
MATERIAL HANDLER RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with loading and unloading of pallets, operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment when needed. Warehouse Material handling functions will include order picking, receiving, inventorying, loading, unloading, labeling, scanning, etc. Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with special projects and handling urgent tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating yard vehicles such as tractor-trailers and yard dogs. Minimum of 4 years of warehouse experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, required Availability to work 8-10 hours daily, based on requirements Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record. Forklift and material handling experience, including loading and unloading shipments. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively with management, team members, and other departments. Strong organizational skills to track and manage yard inventory and trailer movements. Solid teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced setting. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately and thoroughly.
