General Labor - Helper ZIWA Corporation - 5.0 Brownsville, TX Job Details Temporary $11 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Masonry Teamwork Outdoor work Ladder use Attention to detail Materials handling Full Job Description Job description: Job Summary The Maintenance Helper / General Laborer assists with facility maintenance, groundskeeping, repairs, cleaning, and general labor activities in support of company facilities, properties, and projects. This position helps maintain buildings, grounds, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and professional condition while providing support for maintenance, construction, and improvement projects as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Assist with routine building, facility, and property maintenance activities. Perform groundskeeping duties including mulching, edging, weed control, mowing assistance, trash removal, and general landscaping support. Clean building exteriors, sidewalks, parking lots, loading docks, storage yards, and common areas. Perform pressure washing, window cleaning, painting, and general facility upkeep. Assist with minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and improvement projects. Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. Set up, maintain, and clean work areas, facilities, warehouses, and jobsites. Assist with demolition, debris removal, and disposal activities. Operate hand tools, power tools, lawn equipment, and maintenance equipment safely. Assist maintenance personnel, carpenters, and other trades personnel with repair, installation, and construction-related tasks as needed. Assist with drywall repairs, painting, insulation, carpentry, concrete, and other general maintenance activities. Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, safety concerns, or facility deficiencies to supervisors. Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition. Support project teams in maintaining productivity, quality, and schedule requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous maintenance, landscaping, construction, janitorial, or general labor experience preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance practices preferred. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and strong work ethic. Willingness to learn new skills and perform a variety of tasks. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong commitment to workplace safety. Attention to detail and quality workmanship. Good communication and teamwork skills. Strong work ethic and reliability. Ability to meet productivity expectations. Good organizational and problem-solving skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work on ladders. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate construction tools and equipment.
