Warehouse Worker / Shipper Job Description This role supports a plumbing supply distribution operation by accurately preparing, packaging, and loading outbound shipments, as well as assisting with receiving and stocking incoming inventory. The position requires careful attention to detail, safe material handling, and effective communication to ensure products ship correctly and on time. Responsibilities Correctly label, box, and palletize products for shipment in a timely and accurate manner. Accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), as products are boxed to ensure correct items and quantities are shipped. Cross-reference pick sheets with physical products prior to loading to verify accuracy of orders. Inspect and check trailers before loading and unloading product to ensure they are safe and ready for use. Load and unload trucks safely using appropriate equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts where required. Assist with unloading incoming trucks and verifying received products against documentation as needed. Assist with putaway and stocking of incoming inventory in the warehouse. Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work area throughout the shift. Communicate any operational issues, discrepancies, or safety concerns to leadership promptly. Follow all company procedures and safety guidelines while handling, packaging, and moving products. Essential Skills Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse environment. Ability to correctly label, package, and palletize products for shipment. Proficiency in using pallet jacks for moving pallets and materials. Ability to use a forklift or willingness to operate a forklift where required. Basic computer skills to complete shipping paperwork and documentation, including BOLs. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance. Ability to bend, reach, and stack boxes on pallets throughout the shift. Ability to follow written pick sheets and cross-reference them with physical products. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate quantities and correct products are shipped. Effective communication skills to report issues and coordinate with leadership and team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or shipping and receiving role. Familiarity with packaging standards and best practices for palletizing freight. Experience working with Bills of Lading (BOLs) and other shipping documents. Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., totaling a standard 40-hour workweek with no weekend shifts. You will regularly handle boxes and materials, use equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, and work in an active distribution setting focused on safe and efficient movement of plumbing supplies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carrollton, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
