In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and Hi-Lo forklifts to transport goods within warehouse environments. Your expertise in materials handling, shipping and receiving, and warehouse management systems will ensure efficient movement of products, maintaining safety standards and supporting seamless warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, warehouse experience, and a commitment to operational excellence. Duties Operate various types of heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse. Perform routine equipment inspections and basic repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation. Handle materials with precision using order pickers and other equipment to fulfill shipping orders accurately. Assist with inventory management by organizing stock using warehouse management systems and maintaining accurate records. Support shipping and receiving processes by verifying shipments, inspecting goods for damage, and ensuring proper documentation. Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layouts and improve distribution efficiency. Maintain cleanliness and safety protocols throughout the warehouse environment. Utilize mechanical skills for troubleshooting equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime. Assist in training new team members on equipment operation and safety procedures. Experience Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts (including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo), pallet jacks, and order pickers in a warehouse or distribution setting. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing. Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations related to materials handling and equipment operation. Prior experience in shipping & receiving functions within a warehouse environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment. Demonstrated ability to lift heavy loads safely and efficiently during daily operations. Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy. Previous experience in warehouse supervision or leadership roles is a plus but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
