Vehicle Management Solutions Job Summary The Yard Assistant supports daily operations of the impound and auction facility by managing the intake, movement, and documentation of vehicles and property. This role ensures accurate inventory, maintains secure lot conditions, assists with equipment preparation, and provides support to facility clerks, towing partners, and law enforcement personnel. This is a Part-Time position with the potential to become a Full-Time position. "Responsible for the check in, inventory and movement of all impounded property and vehicles…" Key Responsibilities Check in vehicles dropped off by towing companies, including inventory and documentation. Transfer vehicles and property to the auction lot for scheduled auctions. Assist in preparing equipment used at the storage facility. Perform basic maintenance of buildings, grounds, and facility areas. Support facility clerks with inventorying and escorting as needed. Move vehicles and property from the drop area to designated parking locations. Maintain accurate log sheets for all vehicle movements during the shift. Submit all required paperwork for data entry by Facility Clerks. Assist police department personnel as needed while on the lot. Ensure security of vehicles and property on the auction lot. Operate light machinery and heavy equipment safely and effectively. Required Skills & Qualifications Ability to operate light machinery and equipment such as a forklift. Ability to maintain physical condition appropriate for assigned duties. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to learn and use basic computer systems. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Basic understanding of departmental computer operations. Team‑oriented mindset. Must pass a drug test. Must pass a background check. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move across large outdoor lots for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, kneel, climb in/out of vehicles, and operate equipment safely. Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions. Ability to perform repetitive motions such as opening/closing vehicle doors and conducting inspections. "Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties."
