Job Title:
2pm - 10:30pm Shipping Associate Job Description This role supports the shipping and warehouse operations on the 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. shift by accurately receiving, storing, picking, packing, and preparing products for distribution. Working under direct supervision, you will use warehouse systems and equipment to move merchandise safely and efficiently while maintaining accurate records and following established guidelines. Responsibilities Generate shipping manifests in the warehouse computer system and confirm customer and stock orders prior to dispatch. Interpret warehouse documents to determine which items need to be moved, gathered, or distributed within the facility. Open cartons, sort merchandise, and relocate items from receiving or production areas to designated storage or processing locations. Verify merchandise documentation and record incoming products by part number and quantity to ensure inventory accuracy. Organize and place merchandise on racks, shelves, totes, or bins according to a pre-determined sequence or storage plan. Prepare products for distribution within the facility, ensuring items are properly staged and ready for the next process. Assemble customer orders from stock and place them on pallets, shelves, or conveyors to send to the packing station or shipping department. Receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Arrange stock parts in specified sequences for assembly by other workers to support production and order fulfillment. Create and enter records for shipping manifests and related transactions in the warehouse computer system with a high level of accuracy. Operate or assist with material handling equipment, such as forklifts and hand carts, in a safe and efficient manner once trained and certified. Follow all safety rules and procedures while working in narrow aisles with active forklift and hand cart traffic. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including racks, shelves, and packing or shipping stations. Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding order status, inventory discrepancies, and any issues that may impact shipping timelines. Essential Skills Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently to interpret warehouse documents and complete shipping records. 0-6 months of warehouse experience preferred, including exposure to picking, packing, shipping, or material handling. Basic experience or aptitude in warehouse tasks such as order pulling, picking, packing, and shipping. Ability to use RF scanners to locate, pick, and verify merchandise accurately. Capability to work safely around forklifts, CROWN trucks, and other material handling equipment in narrow aisles. Strong attention to detail for verifying part numbers, quantities, and documentation. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively under direct supervision. Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move products throughout the shift in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer literacy to create and enter records in a warehouse computer system. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience as a warehouse associate, material handler, order puller, or in a similar shipping role is an advantage. Familiarity with shipping processes and manifest creation in a warehouse environment. Experience using RF scanners for inventory control and order fulfillment. Forklift or material handling equipment experience is beneficial; no prior certification is required. Willingness to obtain certification on CROWN trucks upon permanent hire. Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. Strong organizational skills to arrange stock in specified sequences and maintain orderly storage areas. Reliability and punctuality to support consistent coverage of the 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. shift. Why Work Here? The warehouse is a non-climate-controlled environment, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. No cellphones or personal electronics are permitted in the warehouse, ensuring focus and safety. Closed-toe shoes are required as part of the dress code, and you should be prepared to stand, walk, and move throughout the 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. shift while working around active equipment and other team members. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Flower Mound, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
