In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and handling of materials within the warehouse environment. Your expertise in operating heavy equipment, such as forklifts and cranes, along with your knowledge of warehouse management systems, will ensure smooth shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, safety awareness aligned with OSHA standards, and experience in materials handling to support our company's operational excellence. Responsibilities Load and unload shipments using appropriate heavy equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes to ensure safe and efficient handling of materials. Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately utilizing RF scanners and pickers to meet customer specifications. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and load & unload machinery following safety protocols. Maintain inventory accuracy through proper materials handling techniques and regular cycle counts within the warehouse management system. Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Support construction-related projects by handling heavy materials with mechanical knowledge and proper lifting techniques. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards by adhering to proper procedures during all warehouse activities. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions and improve workflow efficiency. Perform routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment to ensure operational safety and reliability. Contribute to a safe working environment by identifying potential hazards related to heavy equipment operation or materials handling. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles with a strong understanding of warehouse operations. Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking technologies. Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehousing environments. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and inventory management. Previous experience in construction or materials handling environments is a plus. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors.
