1st Job Description This role supports warehouse operations by safely handling, moving, and tracking materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment. The material handler loads and unloads inbound and outbound shipments, maintains accurate inventory records, and ensures products are stored and picked efficiently to support smooth logistics and distribution. Responsibilities Use material handling equipment to load and unload inbound and outbound shipments, including trucks and other carriers. Handle and process inbound freight from carriers such as parcel and express services, logging all incoming shipments accurately. Safely operate sit-down forklifts and other assigned material handling equipment in accordance with company safety standards. Inspect all equipment before use to ensure it is in safe operating condition and report any accidents, damage, or unsafe conditions to a supervisor. Stock and arrange products in warehouse racks to support efficient inventory turns and easy access. Perform cycle counts to determine accurate material quantities and maintain inventory integrity. Receive material into inventory, move material between designated locations, and locate and pick material to and from warehouse locations as required. Ensure accurate entry of part numbers, quantities, and related data fields into electronic systems to maintain precise records of receipts, inventory levels, and locations. Identify and resolve discrepancies related to material quantities, part numbers, and inventory records. Locate and store parts so that pallets are stable, pallet heights are within guidelines, and racking, equipment, and materials remain undamaged. Keep aisles and storage areas clear of materials to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow. Practice safe material handling techniques at all times, including proper lifting and stacking methods. Use RF scanners for picking, packing, inventory control, and shipping tasks. Support shipping and receiving functions, including picking orders, packing, unloading, and preparing materials for outbound shipment. Perform housekeeping duties as assigned to keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe. Work at heights as required when operating equipment or accessing elevated storage locations. Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required to meet operational needs. Perform all duties in a manner consistent with a safety-sensitive role, prioritizing personal and team safety. Essential Skills Proven experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role. Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently. Demonstrated ability to use RF scanners for picking, inventory, and shipping tasks. Strong material handling skills, including loading, unloading, picking, and packing. Ability to accurately log inbound freight and maintain detailed shipping and receiving records. Experience with inventory control processes, including cycle counting and stock rotation. Ability to accurately record part numbers, quantities, and other inventory data in electronic systems. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties. Comfort working at heights when operating equipment or accessing elevated storage. Commitment to practicing safe material handling techniques and following safety procedures. Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in material quantities and part numbers. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory and orderly storage. Willingness and ability to work overtime and weekends as operational needs require. Reliability and punctuality in a stable warehouse environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a warehouse environment handling a variety of materials and products. Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including coordination with multiple carriers. Ability to maintain stable pallet configurations and adhere to pallet height and storage guidelines. Comfort using basic warehouse technology and electronic inventory systems. Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and coordinate with supervisors and team members. Ability to maintain housekeeping standards and contribute to a clean, organized workspace. Experience in a safety-sensitive role or environment is an advantage. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a warehouse environment that involves regular use of material handling equipment, including sit-down forklifts and RF scanners. You will work primarily indoors in a fast-paced setting that requires frequent movement, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working at heights when accessing elevated storage. Standard hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility for overtime and weekend work as needed. The environment emphasizes safety, with designated safety-sensitive responsibilities, clear aisles, stable pallet storage, and adherence to equipment inspection and operating procedures. Attire should be appropriate for warehouse work, including clothing and footwear suitable for operating forklifts, handling materials, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mesquite, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
