Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description The Material Handler supports production by accurately managing inventory, issuing and kitting materials, and maintaining an organized stock room. This role works closely with a small team in a clean, climate-controlled environment to ensure materials are available, correctly labeled, and properly documented in the system. Responsibilities Maintain an organized inventory store and perform regular cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels. Issue materials from the stock room and kit special projects such as production control plans, sales orders, engineering change notices, non-conformance reports, and return material authorizations. Accurately pick, count, and label parts for production operations according to pick lists and production requirements. Document material shortages clearly and enter all relevant data into SAP or other inventory systems. Audit returned kits for accuracy and completeness, and re-shelve components in the correct locations. Follow established materials handling procedures to protect product quality and maintain traceability. Adhere to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) control procedures when handling sensitive electronic components. Collaborate with team members in shipping, receiving, and inventory to support smooth production flow. Work flexible hours, including daily and weekly overtime, as needed to meet production schedules. Essential Skills Experience with shipping, receiving, and general material handling in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts with strong attention to detail. Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Windows-based systems, for data entry and inventory transactions. Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep stock rooms and work areas orderly. Ability to accurately pick, count, and label parts according to pick lists and documentation. Capability to follow written procedures, including materials handling and ESD control guidelines. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including daily and weekly overtime. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent education. Previous experience in an electronic manufacturing environment is an asset. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP/inventory management systems for data entry and tracking. Knowledge of Oracle 11i is a plus. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to handling and documenting materials. Effective teamwork and communication skills to work closely with a small group of colleagues. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
