Mid-Am Metal Forming is a metal fabrication company with a facility in Terrell, Texas. We specialize in architectural metal forming, fabrication, painting, and assembly. Our custom-manufactured components are commonly used in commercial building products across the entire United States and have been used on buildings as far away as New Zealand! Job description We are looking for a new team member to set up, maintain, and operate machinery for stretch forming. Stretch forming is a way to turn straight pieces of metal, commonly aluminum extrusion, and form them to different radii. The result is used in many applications but can commonly be seen on building windows that have arched tops. Stretch forming team members are guided by work orders that describe the requirements. They set up the machines and dies, prepare the metal for the process, and operate the machine to produce the desired shape. They also perform quality tests to ensure the result meets the requirements within acceptable tolerances. Responsibilities Set up machines to start a production cycle Control and adjust machine settings, such as speed and pressure Inspect parts using templates and various tools Fix issues that might occur during the shift Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws Maintain activity and quality logs Skills Proven experience in manufacturing or fabrication Working knowledge of manufacturing machinery and measurement tools is a plus Understanding of production procedures Adherence to health and safety regulations Ability to read blueprints is a plus Analytical skills Attention to detail Teamwork and communication skills Must be able to lift 75 pounds and stand for long periods of time The typical schedule consists of ten hours per day, Monday through Thursday. Since we are a custom shop, production is occasionally scheduled to work on a Friday.
