Shop Manager Position Summary:

The Yard Associate will be responsible for performing various tasks related to product handling, material management, and maintaining a clean and organized yard. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our steel building fabrication processes. This process includes but not limited to loading and unloading trucks on a regular basis and requires strong attention to detail and ability to identify and report any safety and/or quality concerns.

Responsibilities:

Safely and efficiently move steel building materials, including beams, columns, sheets, and other components, using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment. Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks, verifying the accuracy of shipments and ensuring proper placement of materials in the yard. Organize and maintain an orderly yard by stacking and arranging materials in designated areas, ensuring easy access and proper storage practices. Conduct regular inspections of stored materials for damage, corrosion, or other issues, and report any concerns to the yard supervisor. Operate machinery and equipment, such as saws, grinders, and drills, as needed to assist with material preparation or fabrication tasks. Collaborate with other departments, such as fabrication, logistics, and procurement, to ensure seamless workflow and accurate inventory management. Provide support to the fabrication team by delivering required materials and tools to workstations in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe material handling practices. Assist with industrial paint process on all fabricated components. Assist in general maintenance and cleaning of the yard, including sweeping, removing debris, and maintaining a safe work environment. Keep the warehouse, work area and yard clean and organized at all times. Sweep floors, remove debris, and properly dispose of waste materials. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience Operating Forklifts; and Valid Drivers' License.

Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
