Overview Warehouse Packing 40-60 hrs Join our dynamic warehouse team as a Heavy & Light Lifter, where your energy and expertise will drive our materials handling operations to new heights! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of equipment—including forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and Hi-Lo lifts—to load, unload, and move goods efficiently within our distribution center. Your proactive approach and mechanical aptitude will ensure smooth warehouse distribution processes, supporting timely order fulfillment and maintaining a safe working environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse management and heavy equipment operation while contributing to a fast-paced logistics operation. Responsibilities Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments with precision. Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Assist with order picking using various tools including pickers and other warehouse management system (WMS) technology to fulfill customer orders accurately. Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation and labeling. Handle materials with care, utilizing proper lifting techniques for heavy lifting tasks to prevent injuries. Maintain a clean, organized work area adhering to OSHA standards for safety and efficiency. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate daily operations, improve workflows, and implement best practices in materials handling. Requirements Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo lifts, clamp trucks, or similar heavy machinery. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and experience with order picker tools is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge coupled with basic math skills for inventory counting and measurement tasks. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following OSHA safety protocols. Prior warehouse experience in distribution or shipping & receiving environments preferred. Strong understanding of materials handling procedures and equipment repair basics. Valid certification for forklift or lift truck operation is preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is required.
